Autumn Twilight in Armidale

After leaving Gostwyck Chapel I made my way into Armidale to catch the last of the day. The sun was already sinking fast so I got the drone up right away. From above the town looked like a painting. Red and gold trees lined every street. The cathedral roofs glowed in the soft evening light. It was the kind of view that made me glad I rushed to get there in time.

Once the drone came down I stayed on for the twilight. The old brick churches looked even better in the deep blue hour. Yellow leaves caught the warm glow from the streetlights. Stained glass windows shone from the inside. I walked around each cathedral and found new angles at every turn. The town hall was another beauty with its grand front lit up against the night sky.

While I was shooting I met Tim. He is the Pastor at St Mary's Cathedral and he stopped to chat. We spoke for a while about the church and about life. Standing there in the quiet of the evening I felt a real sense of peace. It was a faithful moment that I did not expect. Armidale is a stunning town. The buildings are beautiful and the people are even more so.

Here are the shots.
