This beach is only a 90-minute drive from Brisbane, 15 minutes from Gold Coast International Airport, and 40 minutes from Surfers Paradise.
This location is best known for its beautiful sunrise and is very popular among surfers. Caba, as most call it, is one of my favorite beaches to visit on weekends. Camping is strictly not allowed at the site, so I stayed at Tweed Holiday Parks Pottsville South for this visit. It is only a 10-minute drive, and an overnight campsite will set you back $54.
Words can not really explain how peaceful Cabarita Beach is. It is a great picnic spot for many. You can always catch a beautiful sunset on the west looking from Norris Heads hill. You can spot Norris Heads in my pictures with the rising sun. The hilltop is very accessible, with wooden pathways and staircases. Sorry, there is no wheelchair access.
All in all, this is a beautiful place to visit if you can. Here are some shots from my visit on Sunday.
